“As a former breast cancer patient and a volunteer in independent cancer self-help for over eleven years, I aim to bring the perspective and experiential expertise of cancer patients, people with a hereditary predisposition to cancer and their families into the German Ethics Council. In line with the mission statement of the Federal Association House of Cancer Self-Help, which I chair, I am committed to the best possible medical and psychosocial care and research, but also to the highest possible level of social participation for those affected.”
